2014 has been a breakthrough year for me personally. Not only have I had the best year in my 6 year home business career (by far) but I actually more than doubled my business and income from 2013 -2014. And by the way i’ve been full-time in the industry for over 5 years now, so doubling my income doesn’t mean going from making $300 to $600 the way it would for the average home business owner. This is my profession and I take my business very seriously.
So since this has been such a breakthrough year in my business I figured I would share some of the factors that contributed to it.
There are certain things I was doing last December that helped me set the stage for a profitable year and allowed me to hit the ground running in the critical month of January.
Check out my last blog post I created to discover 3 Free Resources I Revisit Every December.
And check out the post I created prior to that which is all about “December ‘To Do’s for January Breakthroughs”
Here are the 5 books I read in 2014 that had the biggest impact on my business and income…
1.) The Big Leap – Gay Hendricks
The big leap was recommended to me by one of my personal mentors in home business and online marketing. The book provides an interesting perspective on how and why we sabotage ourselves when we reach a certain level of success and accomplishment. Gay Hendricks provides strategies for recognizing these patterns of self sabotage and how to avoid what he calls your “upper limit problem.” One of my favorite personal growth books I read in 2014.
2.) The War of Art – Steven Pressfield
Before Steven Pressfield wrote “The War of Art” he was well-known for writing a fiction book called, “The Legend of Baggar Vance.” The book, The War of Art is all about breaking through what he calls “resistance” as it relates to your own creative expression. To be effective marketers and entrepreneurs we have to become effective copywriters, video makers and content creators. Because of this, creativity is vital to our success and this book will help you unleash your own creative genius. This was definitely one of the most impactful and fun books I read this year.
3.) Motivation Manifesto – Brendon Burchard
Brendon Burchards new book, The Motivation Manifesto hasn’t even hit bookshelves yet, but I’m such a fan of his work I pre-ordered the book online. His pervious book, “The Charge,” is one of my all-time favorite personal development books and the Motivation Manifesto is a poetic guidebook for skyrocketing your results in life and enhancing your impact, influence and re-claiming your personal power. One of my favorites reads of the year for sure.
4.) The Charisma Myth – Olivia Fox Cabane
I use to believe that the highly attractive quality of “Charisma” was something you were either born with or not born with, that is, until I read, “The Charisma Myth.” The author argues that you can actually develop the “million dollar skill” of personal charisma and provides strategies for doing so. A must read for anyone who wants to enhance their life by upping their own personal magnetism.
5.) The Mobile Wave – Michael Saylor
A really cool book and a must read for any forward thinking, profit-conscious entrepreneur who likes to understand marketing and communication trends. The Mobile Wave argues that the “Mobile Trend” is literally re-shaping the world and revolutionizing everything from health and medicine, business and marketing (of course) and even education, as well as making “The Internet” way more accessible to millions of people around the world. This book was given to me as a gift from my mobile marketing direct sales company because they wanted to help me understand the sheer power and magnitude of this trend. This is the company that I became the #1 producer with in 2014. Click here now to learn more about the exciting opportunity to work with me and cash-in on this global mega trend.
