Did you know that the fall is one of the most crucial times of the year for home business owners?


Its also one of the biggest times of growth for the home business industry and for individual home business owners who are ready to step it up and play a bigger game….


Here’s why


In the fall, and especially after labor day weekend people start to come out of “summer mode” and start taking their lives more seriously again.


Kids go back to school and the weather usually cools down and there are fewer backyard barbecues and summer activities to occupy their time…. Many people start thinking about the holidays and they start to remember all the things they said they would do at the beginning of the year, that they still haven’t accomplished.


Many people start new businesses and join new business opportunities during this time because they want to make positive changes in their lives and improve their “Lifestyles.”


Those that have existing businesses start taking them more seriously again.


Which is exactly why, if you promote a lead generation system or a training program for home business owners, it can be especially profitable for you….


If you are one of those business owners who want to play a bigger game this fall and capitalize on this boom time, stay with me because I’ll share some ways to create momentum in your business in the 4th quarter of the year…


And make no mistake


The decisions you make and the actions you take today will directly affect the results you’ll get in your business in the beginning of 2016


Home business entrepreneurship is kind of like being a farmer, in that, we reap the harvest in a different season than we plant the seeds.


If your not getting the results that you want in your business right now, its most likely because you didn’t plant enough seeds earlier in the year.


Don’t beat yourself up if that is the case, because that will only make the things worse and take up mental energy that could be put towards producing more results and planting more seeds today.


Here are 3 actions to take right now that will help you create momentum in your business

#1 Create Your Goals

This is a perfect time of the year to re-visit or re-create your home business goals. Here are 3 types of goals to create


#1 Lifestyle Goals – You create lifestyle goals to inspire you into action. People often create goals to “get out of debt” which is fine but those kinds of goals aren’t very inspiring and lack the “juice” that will drive you through the many obstacles you will inevitably face when building any business. What do you want to buy? What trips do you want to take? Are there any places you’ve always wanted to visit? Identify a few lifestyle goals of things you want to buy or experiences you want to have and create a goal of using your home business profits to make it happen


#2 Income Goals – How much income do you want to create in your business between now and the end of the year? What kind of income will it take to reach some of your “Lifestyle goals?”  If you have a goal to quit your job or retire your spouse what kind of income will you need to create to make that happen?


#3 Production Goals – Nothing will happen in your business without production and consistent action. You may have to expose your business opportunity presentation to 10 people to get one person signed up. So if you want to recruit 2 people per week you may need to expose 20 people per week in order to get 2 signups. You also want to create production goals that will grow your audience, which will make it way easier to get 20 people per week to expose to your presentation.


DO NOT go another month without clear production goals to grow your social media audience or email list subscribers on a daily basis. #2 Focus on Leveraged Profit Producing Activities


There are only 2 profit producing activities in home business.


The first is lead generation activities and the second is following up with projects to expose them to your products and/or opportunity. Thats it.


All other activities are non-income producing activities. And although they may be important, like creating a blog or consuming a training, they are not revenue activities and must be balanced with actual profit producing activities if you want any chance of results, period.


The 80/20 rule applies here big time. Make sure that 80% of your time is spent on revenue producing activities and 20% on “education.”

#3 Plan Your Work & Work Your Plan


You can build your business full-time or part-time but you can’t build a successful business “some of the time.” It just doesn’t work. Create a clear schedule where you will have uninterrupted time to build your business and execute your Production Goals. If it is between 7pm and 10pm on week nights, schedule it and schedule the activities you will execute during those business building hours. This time could be spent growing your social media audience or creating content or even consuming training as long as there is balance.


The schedule may look something like this…..


7pm – 8pm – Content creation (creating videos, articles, blog posts or ads that get people into your sales funnel and create leads for your business)


8pm – 9pm – Growing and Connecting with Your Audience (Follow 25 people on Twitter, Create 3 new Facebook fan page posts, Messaging 5 new social media followers to start a conversation that leads to them taking a look at your business)


9pm – 10pm – Watching a webinar or training to improve your skills or help you create more leverage and automation in your business 


Consistency is what usually trips people up. This is why its important to create a plan that is simple and easy to implement consistently over an extended period of time. This is also why its important to create a schedule and do your best to stick to it. Life is going to happen. Things are going to come up.


I had a student one time who said that he could never get any work done at home because when he was at home his wife would always make him do chores around the house.I told him that the problem was that he hadn’t sat down with his wife and explained how what he was doing was important for creating a better future for their family. “Urgent” things are going to come up.


But you have to have a balance of doing whats “urgent” and doing whats “Important.” If building a business and creating a brighter future for yourself and your family is important to you, you must set some boundaries and be ruthless when it comes to protecting your business building time and executing your plan.
